Exercise
in and around the village
Exercising
in Redmile relies heavily on the outdoors - this section includes
details of walking and cycling in the area with
most routes offering spectacular views of Belvoir
Castle.
For
those with an indoor persuasion, try the nearest gym (Bottesford)
or swimming pool (Grantham).
Walking
- As well as the the three side roads off main street (offering
a whole 20min round trip - but that's the way we like it!),
there are at least six countryside footpaths converging on the
village.
Two
paths leave the end of Church Lane and both converge after 2km
on Barkestone village. Another leads in both directions along
Grantham Canal and a fourth over to Muston if you have the stamina.
Try using the Leicestershire
County website to find the routes that suit you best.
Cycling
- For mountain and road bikers alike, a short route along the
country roads leads you to the National
Cycle Network trails or you can head to the forests around
Belvoir Castle and follow the bridlepaths to the Viking Way;
home of the famous Redmile
Viking Challenge every October.
